This year’s Delta4x4 Explorer Tour took the delta4x4 team, together with our sponsor BF Goodrich, deep into the wilderness of the Romanian Carpathians. Even the first glance over the mountains gave an idea of what the participants could expect in the coming days. Majestic peaks, endless forests and trails that demanded driving skills of the highest calibre.

A whole day in off-road mode

From morning to night, it was pure off-road every day. The vehicles trudged through mud, over gravel, through narrow forest passages and wide mountain meadows. At lunchtime, packed lunches were unpacked by the roadside, often with a panorama that would have done honour to any lifestyle magazine. In the evening, the convoy rolled into the next accommodation, exhausted but full of pride. Comfortable hotels with chalets, elegant dinners or relaxing spa areas provided the perfect contrast to the tough off-road day. This made it clear: the Delta4x4 Explorer Tour is no simple camping trip, but a high-level adventure.

Encounters and challenges

A highlight right at the beginning was the encounter with wild bears that crossed the road and made the participants feel that nature was setting the pace here. Later, the route led along legal trails to an abandoned tunnel and a mysterious railway bridge that was never completed. On the last day, the Delta4x4 Explorer Tour challenged the teams once again when two punctures had to be overcome. Thanks to perfect teamwork and the experience of the guides, these hurdles were quickly overcome, moments that bonded and made for real adventures.

Vehicles, characters and emotions

The convoy was an impressive display of icons and individualists. The Ford Ranger BEAST, piloted by the.out.fit, set powerful accents. Frederik Herregods drove his Toyota Landcruiser J25 in the BF Goodrich look and at the same time captured the magic of the tour in pictures. He was joined by a Land Rover Defender in a fresh new look, a first-generation Porsche Cayenne and a whole host of accompanying vehicles, including several Mercedes G-Classes, a VW Amarok, another Ranger, various Defenders, a Nissan Terrano and much more. Tati Reed was also at the start, enriching the tour with her Defender and her energy.

Community on and off the trails

As different as the vehicles and characters were, they all shared one passion: genuine off-road adventure. Photographer Gabriel Bascou from BF Goodrich captured the emotions, the amazement at nature, the concentration in tricky passages and the laughter in the evening when the engines had fallen silent. Whether over dinner in elegant hotels, around a campfire with regional specialities or relaxing in the spa, the Delta4x4 Explorer Tour was a celebration of community.

Result

The Delta4x4 Explorer Tour 2025 was not a simple road trip, but an experience that goes beyond off-road sport. It was about the friendships formed along the way, the small and big victories against the elements and experiencing something unforgettable together. Romania proved to be a fantastic stage for adventure and the group a strong community that will be talking about this trip for a long time to come.
