The Loder brothers and delta4x4 are once again taking on the Dakar Classic.

Unterumbach, December 22, 2025 – It is more than just a race; it is a test of endurance for both man and machine. After crossing the finish line together in 2024, Maximilian and Laurence Loder are returning to Saudi Arabia. The brothers will take on the world’s toughest rally for a second time at the 2026 Dakar Classic. With a completely rebuilt vehicle, a strengthened team, and increased ambitions, they want to conquer the desert once again.

Neuanfang nach dem Crash

The Puch 280GE has had an eventful history. At its premiere two years ago, the vehicle tipped over onto its side in the dunes. Despite this dramatic incident and the enormous strain, the brothers fought their way to the finish line. However, this endurance test left its mark, which is why the Puch was completely dismantled and refurbished for 2026.

Technically, the team is going one step further this time. For the first time, the in-house tire brand Loder Tire has to prove itself in competition on a newly developed race rim. It is the ultimate endurance test under real conditions for delta4x4 products.

Never change a running system

The cockpit duo remains unchanged. Maximilian Loder, CEO of delta4x4, takes the wheel. His brother Laurence is once again at his side as navigator. Laurence is currently studying industrial engineering and preparing to join the family business in the near future. The shared experience of 2024 has welded the team together.

They are following in historical footsteps. Their emergency vehicle looks exactly like the off-road vehicle their father Josef Loder once used as an assistant for the BMW Motorrad Team in the Dakar Rally. A tradition that the sons are now continuing.

Reinforcement for higher goals

Even though the main goal remains to reach the finish line, the sporting ambitions are higher than last time. The team behind the scenes has therefore been significantly strengthened. A mechanic and a development engineer are accompanying the rally to solve any technical challenges immediately and provide optimal support for the vehicle.

The convoy has also grown. A newly purchased MAN team truck serves as a mobile workshop and spare parts warehouse. Logistics are supported by a VW Amarok and a Mercedes Sprinter. Both support vehicles have, of course, been optimized by delta4x4 for the desert crossing. The convoy also includes its own social media team to capture the adventure up close.

About the Dakar Classic

The Dakar Classic takes place parallel to the regular Dakar Rally. Only vehicles built before 2000 are eligible to participate. In this competition, navigation skills and endurance often count for more than pure speed. For delta4x4, it is the perfect stage to combine the longevity of classic off-road technology with modern in-house developments.
