Mitsubishi relies on forged aluminum rims from delta4x4 for the new L200
The completely newly developed Mitsubishi L200 is currently rolling onto the German market. The fifth generation of the pickup classic is the result of seventy years of technical experience at Mitsubishi Motors in the pickup segment. And Mitsubishi is building on delta4x4’s 35 years of expertise in the refinement of off-road vehicles.
The L200 “Intro Edition” – the special model for the market launch – rolls to customers on forged aluminum rims from delta4x4. The “Legacy Forged Rim” combines the finest available in rim technology and thus combines maximum strength with extremely low weight: The one-piece forged wheel from delta4x4 was specially developed for pickups and offers a load capacity of 1000 to 1850 kilograms, depending on the area of use with a weight of only 9.5 to 12.5 kilos.
The main advantages of forged rims compared to cast rims at a glance.
Less tire wear: Thanks to the forging technology and the complex finishing process, which is carried out exclusively on CNC systems, forged rims have a much more precise concentricity than cast wheels. This significantly reduces tire wear.
Lower fuel consumption: the wheels are part of the unsprung mass on the vehicle. The low weight of forged rims also reduces the mass moment of inertia, which leads to fuel savings.
High strength: During forging, the basic structure of the metal is adapted to the shape of the wheel. This creates rims with unbeatable strength.
For the time being, delta4x4 is offering the “Legacy Forged” forged wheel in the sizes 9×18 and 8×16 inches. These can not only be mounted on most “European” and US pickups, but also on many SUV models, off-road vehicles in the luxury segment and vans. The forged aluminum rims can either be obtained from specialist retailers or directly from the German exclusive supplier delta4x4. There is the “delta4x4 Legacy Forged” in 9×18 inches from 660, in 8×16 inches from 490 euros, including a 5-year guarantee with unlimited kilometers on the strength of the rim.
