MINI Countryman
When a style-conscious forester buys a Mini Countryman to do his job in a picturesque way in the hallway and forest, he realizes very quickly that it doesn’t work properly with a ground clearance of 170 mm. He will remember that even the Beetle from the early days of the forest ranger was easier to maneuver through the forest than a Countryman who calls himself an SUV.
The off-road vehicle tuner delta4x4, based in the Bavarian town of Unterumbach near Munich, had to wait a long time until a Countryman owner asked for a lift.
The delta4x4 technicians went to work with enthusiasm to give the vehicle an off-road treatment. The Mini was raised by 25 mm via a “spring extension” and pimped up again by approx. 20 mm with tires and rims of the dimension 235 / 60R16. The terrain beau is about 45 mm higher – which is clearly visible. Even with a ground clearance of around 20 cm, the Mini is not lavishly equipped, but at least it is on the order of a Tiguan or Kuga.
The entire off-road course is excellent for the Mini. The car looks much more powerful and – if you may – more masculine.
The lift kit with parts certificate costs around € 450. A set of tires and rims in 17 inches with an all-terrain profile from Cooper or Goodrich is available for € 1,800.
