delta Geländesport dreams electric – Renault R5 as a mini off-roader in adventure trim
Unterumbach – Dreams inspire – and at delta Geländesport they have become a tradition. After spectacular off-road studies and conversions, the team is now presenting a bold vision: A Renault R5 in off-road guise, inspired by historic rallies, where its predecessor was extremely successful and contributed greatly to Renault’s reputation.
Small, electric – and ready for off-road: the concept study is based on the new Renault R5 with electric motor and is equipped with a lift of up to 100 mm and massive fender flares. Powerful Loder AT 255/55 R18 off-road tyres ensure maximum grip – a rarity in this vehicle segment.
On top: a functional roof rack that not only sets visual accents, but also promises practical benefits for outdoor use. And when it gets dark, several PIAA high-performance headlights provide daytime brightness – in the style of the wild 80s rally cars.
“We wanted to show what is possible on a small scale,” explains a spokesperson for delta Geländesport. “Our aim was to combine the charm of the new R5 with a good dose of adventure.”
The first renderings are currently available and are already generating a great deal of interest on social media. But as is so often the case with delta Geländesport: if there is enough demand, the dream will become reality.
Now it’s up to the community: anyone who wants to experience the R5 mini-offroader in more than just a digital format can register their interest directly with delta Geländesport.
The cost of the conversion is expected to be between €15,000 and €20,000.
