What Mercedes does with the “G4x4²”, delta does with the VW Amarok.
Delta4x4 puts the VW Amarok on Real Beadlock rims. For adventurers who move in the most inhospitable areas of our world, the best equipment is only good enough. The Beadlock rim from Hutchinson provides an additional level of mobility, grip and security.
In sand, mud and snow it is common to lower the air pressure of the tires to a very low pressure in order to get the last grip with the flexing action of the tires and thus to be able to pass the sand dune, the mud hole or the snowdrift. An undertaking that in extreme cases fails because the tire loses its grip on the rim and thus cannot hold any air. From bad to worse, so to speak.
The beadlock technology prevents that!
The tire is anchored on the rim with a spreader ring and holds the tire firmly on the rim. The tire no longer loses air and guarantees the remaining mobility of the vehicle, even with damaged tires. For the Amarok, the off-road vehicle specialist delta4x4, based in the south of Germany, is installing a rim in 8.5×17 with tires ranging from 265 / 65R17 BF Goodrich, 285 / 75R17 Toyo Open Country to the monster truck tires of size 315 / 70R17, depending on the customer’s taste by Mickey Thompson.
Delta offers these bikes with parts certificate for the VW Amarok. The price for the complete package for the pick-ups from Volkswagen with the Hutchinson Beadlock rims in 17×8.5, BF Goodrich tires in 265 / 65R18, adapters and “pocket style” extensions is € 3,400. With tires of size 285 / 70R18 as Toyo Open Country and a 40mm lift kit, the conversion kit costs an extra € 1,800. With the monster truck tires from Mickey Thompson in size 315 / 70R17, a 140mm lift and Bilstein shock absorbers, the customer has to expect around € 14,000.
