Beadlock aluminum wheels for pickups
A Hutchinson Beadlock rim is almost part of the standard program of a Mercedes G driver. A “must have”, so to speak, for those who drive their vehicle in the inaccessible areas of this world. Now the off-road vehicle specialist, delta4x4, based near Munich, is also offering this wheel with parts certificate for pick-ups.
The beadlock technology (translated as bead locking) goes back to the dragster and off-road hardcore area and prevents the tire from turning on the rim during extreme acceleration or with very low air pressure and thus leading to complete air loss. With the Hutchinson beadlock technology, a beadlock ring clamps the tire to the rim of the rim and thus secures the seat of the tire. And that even with extreme shear forces between the tire and the rim. A technology that is often used for armored vehicles to ensure the mobility of the vehicle even with damaged tires.
Delta offers these bikes with parts certificates for the Ford Ranger, VW Amarok and Toyota Hilux. The price for the complete package for the pick-ups from Toyota and Ford with the Hutchinson Beadlock rims in 17×8.5, Mickey Thompson AT tires in 265 / 70R18 and “pocket style” extensions is € 4,480. For the VW Amarok, this is € 4,690. Tires of size 285 / 70R18 as Toyo Open Country cost an extra charge of 200 €. Kits for the pickups from Nissan, Mitsubishi and Isuzu are still in preparation.
