Pickups are on the advance in Europe: In Germany alone, almost 30,000 new vehicles of this type were registered last year – and the Ford Ranger leads the registration statistics with 9,992 units. Reason enough to further optimize the bestseller, which received a facelift in 2019, for delta4x4.
An all-terrain chassis with longer springs, for example, already adds four centimeters to ground clearance. In addition, the Bavarian off-road specialists have given the Ford Ranger a body lift kit that raises the body – together with the chassis modifications – by a total of 14 centimeters. This combination also creates the necessary space in the wheel arches to be able to mount mud-terrain tires of size 305/60 R 18. For the wheels, delta4x4 relies on the combination of the coarse-treaded Cooper STT Pro and the in-house WP light alloy wheel in matt black. With its distinctive off-road profile, the Mud Terrain guarantees optimum traction in all off-road applications and also provides a further 20 to 30 millimeters of ground clearance. So that the wide wheels do not protrude laterally, the South German off-road vehicle tuner covers them with tailor-made “wide body” fender flares that are mounted in the vehicle color. In addition to the ground clearance, which is indispensable for off-road driving, the higher seating position also provides a better overview when driving – almost comparable to the distant view on the Herzogstand on Lake Walchensee. The delta4x4 Ranger receives the final optical finishing touches with a personal protection bar on the front of the vehicle, which also serves as a mounting point for additional LED headlights from the Japanese lighting specialist PIAA, which turn night into day thanks to the latest technology. Optimized in this way, the delta4x4 Ranger is equipped for all off-road adventures. The body lift kit of 100mm costs 2,260 euros for the delta4x4, the additional suspension kit with springs and shock absorbers costs 2,216.38 euros and the 18-inch wheel set with 305 / 60R18 tires from Cooper costs 2,900 euros. The price for the “Wide Body” fender flares is 1,800 euros, the front bar can be purchased for 560 euros and the LED auxiliary headlights from PIAA are available from delta4x4 from 600 euros. Everything plus assembly and, if necessary, painting.
