The Ford Ranger modified by delta4x4 is a “bad boy” with real power under the hood: thanks to optimized engine management and a modified exhaust system with side pipes to a maximum output of 240 hp – that is twenty percent more than the production version. The latest pickup from the Bavarian off-road specialist rolls along the streets at a correspondingly high speed.
The chassis of the Bad Ranger does justice to the fascinating performance – both on and off the road. To do this, the tuner from southern Germany first gave the Ford pickup a body lift that raised the chassis by 50 mm and then installed even larger wheels in the format 275/60 R 20, which gained another two centimeters in height. For the tires, delta4x4 opted for all-terrains of the Geolandar A / T type. The all-terrain tires come from the Japanese off-road tire specialist Yokohama. They are designed for mixed use, so that the ranger in the bad boy trim can show his strengths both on and off the road and, thanks to an elaborate rubber compound with silica, also for the winter. The tire has M + S and snowflakes marking. The rubbers are mounted on robust aluminum rims for pickups, in the range of the Bavarian off-road vehicle tuner. The “Lander” wheels in five-double-spoke design have extremely high fatigue strength and are tested for up to 1,200 kg.
Delta4x4 creates the necessary space for the large tires in the wheel arches with its “Iceland” fender flares: These allow the pickup to grow by around thirty centimeters in width and thus ensure a “really bad” appearance for the ranger from Odelzhausen. The mutation from Ford Ranger to Bad Ranger is completed by adding a front bar with additional wide emitters from PIAA. Their yellow LED technology ensures eye-friendly wide illumination – both on the road and in the field. After all, the Bad Ranger from delta4x4 is equipped for use in any terrain.
The 50mm body lift kit for delta4x4 costs 1711 euros, the 20-inch wheel set, including Yokohama tires, costs around 3,500 euros. The price for the fender flares is 1,823 euros, that for the two-sided side exhaust (with EC type approval) is 1260 euros. The front bracket (approved for EU roads) including the LED wide beam from PIAA is available for 1,100 euros.
