The champagne that bears the name of the archetype of all off-road vehicles
The Loder family, from the auto tuning companies “delta4x4” and “Loder1899”, share a passion for automobiles and champagne with winemaker Christophe Goutorbe. Learn the history of Jeeper champagne and why delta4x4 has been importing this exceptional champagne for over 25 years.

THE NAME “JEEPER” GOES BACK TO THE CULT OFF-ROAD VEHICLE FROM AMERICA.
WHEN THE FRENCH WINEMAKER ARMAND GOUTORBE, unable to walk due to war injuries, returned from captivity to his champagne estate in 1944, he began to restore the vineyards that his family had been cultivating in the best locations in Champagne since the 17th century to press the delicious noble drink.
This was a difficult undertaking with his impairment and he applied for a vehicle from the prefecture of the Épernay region in order to be able to do his work. So he was awarded a jeep that was left over from the chaos of war. The robustness and the universal usability of the car impressed him so much that the two became inseparable. Wherever Armand was there was the jeep and where the jeep was Armand wasn’t far. The winemaker was known throughout the Champagne region for this unusual vehicle and from then on the residents of Épernay called him “JEEPER”.
When the winery was renamed in 1949 to avoid confusion with other wineries of the same name, there was no question that the new name of the traditional champagne house would be “JEEPER”.

THAT WAS THE JUDGMENT OF GAULT & MILLAU *
at the tasting of 120 champagnes in December 2014.
“The Grande Réserve from Jeeper is a champagne made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, which beguiles both eyes and mouth with a sparkling, buttery yellow color. The notes of hazelnut, fresh brioche, white flowers and white fruit compote accompany the airy champagne … … very well done. ”
Jeeper’s Grande Réserve was given 16 out of 20 points on the same level as champagnes from Barons de Rothschild, Mumm, Deutz, Ruinart and Taittinger.
The champagne house Jeeper sees this as recognition for the love and passion that the small winery puts into the creation of your divine drink.
Delta delivers 6 bottles of the “Grande Réserve” champagne free of charge in Germany for 248 euros, 6 bottles of the Grand Rosé for 399 euros and 6 bottles of the organically grown and pressed Brut Naturelle champagne for 397 euros.
